Onboard Accommodation - 18m MV Maureen

Forward (below decks): The vessel has accommodation for eight persons in four twin cabins arranged in the forward part of the ship. A centreline corridor extends forward from the bottom the accommodation ladder; the forward cabin has two Vee berths with a new steel deck/escape hatch.

The cabins are generally arranged with hanging lockers and under berth storage. Port side aft there is a shower room with heads compartment, with a further shower compartment en suite in the aft starboard side cabin and with a further heads installed forward on the portside. A substantial stowage area is provided below the wheelhouse sole and this is accessed off the forward accommodation companionway. Foam mattresses are provided for the berths.

The joinerwork in this area is of simulated wood finish laminates with hardwood trim.

Aft (below decks): The after accommodation at present incorporates a galley with two dinette style mess tables; this accommodation is accessed from the aft end of the deckhouse. No attempt has been made to fit out this cabin The area could be readily altered to provide additional sleeping accommodation or a saloon area and there is space for installation of an aft heads shower compartment if required.

Deckhouse: Arranged with wheelhouse forward and with large stowage area under, a passageway extends aft from the wheelhouse with the companionways to the forward and after below decks accommodation lead off.

The large wheel house features helm console forward with large chart table and dresser units along the aft bulkhead. The console houses the a traditional pattern spoked wheel for the Tensfjord steering gear and with an electric JOG control adjacent, The engine control levers are of Morse MK type with push pull cables. A display is provided for the DC battery management system and remote start panels are installed here for the main engine and the auxiliary generator. Radar, Plotter and Sounder displays are arranged P & S with displays also for two GPS Units and the sailor VHF radio. The radio has an independent DC power supply.

The deck house area has been recently been fitted out to a high standard with a new deck saloon which features a U shaped settee layout with a table in dinette style. New deckhead linings incorporate down lighters. An emergency escape access from the engine compartment is provided.

Adjacent aft new all electric galley has been built with fitted units and laminate work top and equipped with electric hob and oven, front loading refrigerator, SS sink and drainer with H & C taps. The saloon and galley compartments are arranged to be open plan with a partial bulkhead between.
